Ray Fields is a Security Supervisor at the Santa Clara Valley Water District (Valley Water), a Special District of the State of California. He has been with Valley Water for over 19 years and began his career after graduating from the University of California at Los Angeles with an environmental degree. Prior to this, he served in the United States Marine Corps and interned with the Regulatory Branch of the United States Army Corps of Engineers’ Los Angeles District.
After many years as a hazardous materials responder and project manager for agency-wide projects at Valley Water, Ray served as the interim-emergency manager and as an emergency operations coordinator. He now serves fulltime in a security capacity and is obtaining his Master’s Degree in National Security. Ray’s security focus is blended with his understanding of water operations and the need for water infrastructure security.
